The Mother Road Ride Rally begins each year in Chicago, Illinois, but riders are welcome to join up at points along the route as well as end the experience at points along the way. On the official website "Click Here" it is noted that many riders join up along the way and ride segments that enable them to fit it into there individualized time and location limitations. It is an "All Brands Invited Event" as far as motorcycles go, and "all bikes must be registered as it is a "closed event" as well.
The ride gives its participants a "a first hand look at real Americana" from a time when getting from point "A" to point "B" was more than just the quickest way of arriving. Route 66 follows the landscape instead of cutting through it. And although much of the original highway has been overtaken by newer major highways, the scenery remains  including the old historic roadside

More Comming To Born To Roam In 2018!
The Mother Road Ride Rally was the brain child of Kirk Woodward back in 1994. Inspiration for the ride happened while browsing through a catalog that featured Route 66 memorabilia. He remembered a time when he lived in Peoria, Illinois and had often traveled the famous highway as part of his job as a sales representative in Central Illinois. "Gosh what a great motorcycle ride", were his thoughts, and in 1995 he officially founded "The Mother Road Ride Rally".
Kirk passed away in 2002, and his wife Pam has kept the ride going in his honor. In 2011 George Higgins and his wife Ann purchase the event to "continue the tradition of providing a fun filled travel adventure for motorcycles on RT-66 and what is becoming the premier event for the serious touring motorcyclist."
Route 66 was established in1926 as a roadway to link Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California. The route's course would wind along and follow the natural landscapes of the States
